Meeker Classic
Sheepdog Trials
The Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials offers five days of sheepdog herding competition for a purse totaling $20,000. This event is sanctioned by the USBCHA. The Sheepdog Trials are held annually in September, the first Wednesday through Sunday after Labor Day.

Range Call Rodeo
Oldest annual rodeo in Colorado
The Meeker Range Call Celebration is 3 or 4 days worth of events. Re-enactments of the Meeker Massacre and Bank Robbery, Ranch Rodeo, Pro Rodeo, 5K footrace, pancake breakfast, community barbecue, parade, fireworks, concert and more keep everyone busy for the 4th of July celebration.

Climate
Temperatures for summer and fall are mostly in the mid 80's by day and mid 40's by night. The low humidity in the summer guarantees a pleasant day no matter how high the temperature climbs. As expected, there's lots of snow in the winter months and temperatures can drop to zero, but there's rarely a gray day. After all, Colorado averages 300 days of sunshine per year

Daily Recreation
People come to Meeker to enjoy the quiet, relaxing atmosphere this historic little town has to offer but
upon arrival they realize that Meeker offers a host of day time activities that are sure to please. After spending the day
enjoying some of the various activities you can relax and enjoy the quietness that small towns are renowned for.
Whether you come for the history, some hunting (which Meeker is famous for), or just to enjoy the beautiful county and
scenic views, you are sure to enjoy your stay with us.
The Meeker Hotel and Cafe is centrally located in the dowtown business district across from the Rio Blanco County Courthouse. We are within walking distance of several activities and attractions.
The White River Museum
The museum is a showcase of memorabilia defining Meeker's rich history. It's on the other side of the court house, about a two minute walk from the hotel.
Fishing
Just a short walking distance from the hotel is the famous White River one of the finest rivers in Colorado for trout fishing. There are also several lakes within a short drive where the fishing is considered excellent.
Golf
We don't have a suburb in Meeker, but we do have a golf course! It's nine holes, so if you want 18, you'll have to play twice! This challenging and gorgeous course is located about a five minute drive from the hotel.
Hunting
Rio Blanco County offers some of the finest elk and mule deer hunting in the country. With over 370,000 acres in the Flat Top Wilderness area finding a hunting location is easy. This is a busy time of the year for us so making reservations early is very important.
Horseback Riding and More
There are plenty of horses available for riding in the beautiful Flat Tops Wilderness area about a fifteen drive from the hotel. The wilderness area is also a great place for picnics, hiking, biking, swimming, tennis, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing. Not all in the same season, of course.
